Blast belly fat and fight weight gain with this super easy apple cider vinegar detox drink!

An apple cider vinegar detox is more than just another fleeting food trend. For many, it’s become both a division of daily life, as well as a subtle, delicious lifestyle hack. Apple cider vinegar is no new kid on the health and wellness block—for thousands of years, it’s been recognized for healing properties ranging from immunity and weight balance to blood sugar reduction and cholesterol control. Taking apple cider vinegar for bloating is even common practice among burgeoning health advocates as a means of balancing gastrointestinal stress put on our bodies by modern (i.e. poor) diets.

Many health claims about apple cider vinegar are largely anecdotal. If you’re inherently skeptical (as I was for the longest time), this may scare you off. But my suggestion would be to not let that deter you from experimenting with apple cider vinegar for bloating or from doing an apple cider vinegar detox (often referred to as an ACV detox). As more and more people turn to apple cider vinegar for bloating and detoxification, more and more research arises in support.

Before diving into this ACV detox tea recipe, we’ll look at a few of the detoxifying benefits of the main ingredients (ACV being one of them) as well as the science supporting them as superb detoxifiers.

How Does An ACV Detox Work?

The theory behind an ACV detox (apple cider vinegar detox) is that a tablespoon or two of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar gives your body a concentrated dose of beneficial bacteria, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, vitamins, and minerals. [1, 2] This nutrient mix helps combat toxin buildup that could damage everything from your digestive tract to your skin integrity.

Now, it’s important (and healthy) to understand that a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar contains at least as many claims as it does benefits. For instance, there are enzymes in apple cider vinegar, but they’re not digestive enzymes, as many people believe. That’s why this recipe calls for SkinnyFit Detox tea. Its powerful blend of natural plant-based anti-inflammatories and antioxidants picks up where the apple cider vinegar detox properties leave off, helping to soothe your digestive system in a truly balanced way.

We also add some of nature’s best anti-inflammatories and antioxidants, like turmeric and ginger, to double-down on detoxifying benefits.

What Does An Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Do?

While an ACV detox isn’t a cure-all, it’s no snake oil either. There are numerous researched-backed health benefits you can take advantage of by incorporating apple cider vinegar into your detox routine.

  • Anti-obesity—ACV can help accelerate weight loss, according to a randomized study. Subjects who combined apple cider vinegar with a 250-calorie decrease in their diet lost an average of 8.8 lbs in 12 weeks, versus the 5 lbs lost for those who did not take a tablespoon of ACV at lunch and dinner. [3]
  • Blood sugar regulation—There are no shortage of studies out there that show apple cider vinegar can help slow insulin spikes after meals. So while an ACV detox won’t cure diabetes, it might help balance it. [4]
  • Boost immunity—Combined with natural immune-boosters, such as those in SkinnyFit Detox, an ACV detox may help you strengthen your immune system.
  • Cholesterol control—When you add apple cider vinegar to your diet after lunch and dinner, your body is likely to reflect lower cholesterol levels. [3] Thus, an apple cider vinegar detox may be healthier for your heart.
  • Good bacteria—As we touched on, raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar can increase beneficial bacteria that helps support your body.
  • Fight bloatingUsing apple cider vinegar for bloating alone might not have the effect you’re hoping for. But combining ACV with SkinnyFit Detox dramatically increases your body’s ability to fight bloating. That’s because SkinnyFit Detox uses a delicious blend of naturally detoxifying herbs to reduce gas build up and deflate your belly when it’s acting up.

Apple Cider Vinegar For Bloating

The internet is full of promises that apple cider vinegar will put your bloating blues to rest. But the fact is, the research simply isn’t there to support it. However, there’s no shortage of anecdotes out there supporting ACV as a natural bloating remedy. This could be due to those beneficial bacteria I was telling you about.

If you’re not having much luck with apple cider vinegar for bloating, combining with the Detox tea, as we do in this recipe, could have you feeling better, with your tummy looking flatter. Here’s why:

  • Lemongrass, a key ingredient in our Detox blend is shown to help soothe digestion and ease bloating, as well as constipation and indigestion.
  • Dandelion leaf has been shown to be a powerful diuretic and anti-inflammatory, helping our bodies handle oxidative stress that could lead to bloating. [3]
  • Water weight is a visible sign of bloating. The probiotics in raw apple cider vinegar, combined with water weight-reducing effects of SkinnyFit Detox have helped many women and men shed water weight and look visibly slimmer.

Possible Side Effects

While I’m all in favor of an ACV detox, I couldn’t send you off without a word of caution.

Some people do have adverse side effects to apple cider vinegar. In particular, undiluted ACV can potentially erode tooth enamel. Others complain about a sore throat or upset stomach—another reason to do a detox with tea or water, instead of taking it by the tablespoon. Lastly, ACV can also mess with certain medications, so people on diuretics or insulin medication should consult their doctor before doing an apple cider vinegar detox.
