Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas
When it comes to healthy 4th of July food, you can’t beat a frozen banana drizzled in red, white, and blue chocolate! This recipe is a crowd favorite not just for kids, but for adults too!
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 2 Hours
Total time: 2+ hours
Servings: 4-8 servings
Ingredients:
- 2-4 bananas
- Chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips
- 1 scoop Super Youth Chocolate Cake
- Red, white, & blue candy melts
- Lollipop sticks
- 4th of July sprinkles and red, white, and blue sprinkles
Instructions:
- Peel the bananas and then cut them in half.
- Place each banana piece on a lollipop stick.
- Freeze the bananas for at least two hours.
- Melt the chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips in the microwave and mix in 1 scoop of Super Youth Chocolate Cake. Once mixed, cover the frozen bananas with the melted chocolate.
- If you are going to decorate your frozen bananas with sprinkles, add the sprinkles before the chocolate hardens. If you want to drizzle on candy melts, place the frozen bananas back in the freezer until the chocolate is completely hardened.
- For the candy drizzle, place the red, white, and blue candy melts in individual Ziploc bags. Place the plastic bags in the microwave. Start around 30-40 seconds and massage the candy to mix the chocolate together. Continue in 10-second increments until the candy is fully melted.
- Once the candy melts are melted, cut the corner tip off the bag and drizzle the candy over the frozen bananas.
- Place the decorated frozen bananas back in the freezer until you are ready to serve them.
