It’s no surprise that Americans love their food, but when it comes to the 4th of July, things can sometimes get a little out of control. It’s hard to control yourself when you’re surrounded by BBQ, corn on the cob, potato salad… and don’t even get me started on the apple pie! 🤤You could be casually working through a delicious fruit kebab one minute, and before you know it, you’re guzzling down your second weenie in a race to beat Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi in the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. 🌭But, not this year!

This year is going to be different… I’ve got five healthy 4th of July recipes that are as nutritious for you as they are delicious, and you won’t have to worry about overindulging! Patriotic Yogurt Bark

If you’re looking for a light and scrumptious treat that isn’t doused in chocolate, this patriotic yogurt bark is right up your alley! It’s a combination of vanilla Greek yogurt, fresh berries, agave, and protein-packed Super Youth collagen. It provides just a touch of sweetness to satisfy your cravings, without overdoing it.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 2 hours

Total time: 2+ hours

Servings: 8 snack servings

  5. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely frozen.
  6. Use a knife to make the first “break” and then you can break with your hands. Break into serving size pieces and serve cold.

Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas

When it comes to healthy 4th of July food, you can’t beat a frozen banana drizzled in red, white, and blue chocolate! This recipe is a crowd favorite not just for kids, but for adults too!

Servings: 4-8 servings

chocolate covered frozen bananas

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Peel the bananas and then cut them in half.
  2. Place each banana piece on a lollipop stick.
  3. Freeze the bananas for at least two hours.
  4. Melt the chocolate melting wafers or chocolate chips in the microwave and mix in 1 scoop of Super Youth Chocolate Cake. Once mixed, cover the frozen bananas with the melted chocolate.
  5. If you are going to decorate your frozen bananas with sprinkles, add the sprinkles before the chocolate hardens. If you want to drizzle on candy melts, place the frozen bananas back in the freezer until the chocolate is completely hardened.
  6. For the candy drizzle, place the red, white, and blue candy melts in individual Ziploc bags. Place the plastic bags in the microwave. Start around 30-40 seconds and massage the candy to mix the chocolate together. Continue in 10-second increments until the candy is fully melted.
  7. Once the candy melts are melted, cut the corner tip off the bag and drizzle the candy over the frozen bananas.
  8. Place the decorated frozen bananas back in the freezer until you are ready to serve them.

Servings: 4 servings

  3. Once blended, add two scoops of Super Youth Peach Mango and blend until Super Youth is completely mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan, cover with plastic wrap, and place in the freezer for an additional 30 minutes.

Sparkling Red, White, and Blue Sangria

Don’t think I would give you healthy 4th of July recipes and forget to give you a delicious cocktail! If there’s one thing that makes me think of Independence Day it’s sparklers, apple pie, sangria, and an explosion of red, white, and blue. So what better way to celebrate America’s birthday than combining all of that nostalgia into a boozy adult beverage! This sparkling white sangria is subtly sweet, perfectly fizzy, and deliciously detoxifying all in one.
